Frequently asked questions
The questions we are asked most. If something is missing here, it is probably explained on the how we measure page or on What is Nikar.
- What is Nikar?
- Nikar measures how Israeli businesses appear in Hebrew answers from ChatGPT and Gemini — not how they rank on Google. The free check runs up to 20 discovery questions on one engine and reports mention rate, average position and share of voice. The full explanation — who it is for, who it is not, and how it differs from tools like Profound — is on the What is Nikar page.
- Is Nikar related to other businesses with a similar name?
- No. Nikar (nikar.co.il) is a tool that checks whether your business appears in ChatGPT and Gemini answers, and shows what's missing so it does. We're not related to a construction company with a similar name in Sderot, to a novel, or to consulting firms with similar-sounding names. Free check: nikar.co.il/#audit
- How do I check whether my business appears in ChatGPT?
- Ask ChatGPT the questions your customers would ask in your field and city, from a logged-out window or a fresh chat, and note which businesses it names. Then repeat the same questions in Gemini. Nikar's free check does this systematically on one engine, with real Hebrew questions in your field, and shows who else was mentioned and what's missing for you to appear: nikar.co.il/#audit
- What is visibility in AI answers?
- The extent to which answer engines like ChatGPT and Gemini mention your business when a potential customer asks them who to turn to in your industry. Unlike ordinary search, where there is a list of results, a model's answer holds only a few names — and whoever is not mentioned does not appear in the answer.
- What does the free check do?
- It runs real questions in Hebrew against one engine — the one that brought you here, if we can tell, otherwise ChatGPT — and shows in how many of the answers you were mentioned, who else was mentioned, and which sources were cited. The check takes about a minute.
- Do I need to sign up to run a check?
- No account needed. An email is required — without it the check cannot run, and a copy of the report is sent there.
- How exactly do you measure?
- We ask questions on one engine, read the answers and extract from them which businesses were mentioned and in what order. From that we compute mention rate, average position and share of voice. A question that includes the business name is not counted, because it measures reputation and not visibility.
- Is this exactly what my customer sees in ChatGPT?
- No, and it matters to us to say so. We measure through the providers' APIs and not through the app, and a real user has a history, preferences and sometimes live browsing that change the answer. What the measurement gives is a consistent basis for comparison over time and against competitors — not a screenshot of one particular conversation.
- Why only one engine on the free check?
- Because the free check runs one engine — the one that brought you here, if we can tell, and ChatGPT if we cannot. There is no combined score. One score from one engine, and the report names it.
- Can I buy a check on more engines?
- Yes. After the free check you can buy a one-time pack of three engines for ₪9.90. One purchase, not a subscription. There is no promise of a tax invoice.
- Can I pay to appear in the answers?
- No. There is currently no advertising product that puts a business into a ChatGPT or Gemini answer. What makes a difference is where your business is mentioned across the web and what your site says.
- How long does it take to see a change?
- There is no known answer. Some answers rest on information retrieved at the moment the question is asked and can change within weeks, and some on what the model learned, which updates slowly. Anyone who names a date is making it up.
- What does it mean that you could not measure?
- That every question asked named the business, so there is nothing to compute visibility from. In that case we say so explicitly instead of showing a score of zero — a zero and "cannot be measured" are two different conclusions.
- What happens to my report?
- The report is kept at a permanent link you can come back to and share. If you left an email, we send you a copy of that link.
